This photo depicts the tranquility of a section of one of the teak forests in South Trinidad. This scenery remains untouched and generates a lot of nostalgia for the late 1970s and early 1980s for many individuals who live in the New Grant, Tableland and Princes Town areas. This serene location also has a calming effect for many who commute, on a daily basis, on the Sister’s Road. It also serves a natural landmark for those who live in the area. This teak forest certainly brings back early memories of my childhood from the early 1980s. It is one scenic area that stimulated my interest in appreciating the natural landscapes of Trinidad.
