Solutions from across the globe

No Column Title – 1068 Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana. The meeting, which was held from 18th to 23rd February 2024, convened hundreds of scientists, students, policymakers and practitioners from across the world to discuss and improve the state of ocean sciences. Topics spanned across several disciplines covering research in watered areas across the world, from small island coasts to the Artic Ocean. The presentation was part of a session titled “Nature-Based Climate Mitigation and Resilience Along Our Coasts,” which featured research on transdisciplinary and other approaches to Nature-based Solutions on coasts. Implementing a Group Building Model

No Column Title – 1074 The presentation highlighted our efforts so far in using a Group Model Building (GMB) approach to understand causes of low uptake of NbSs in the Caribbean and identify areas for intervention. In presenting, Simone outlined the importance of transdisciplinary research in informing sustainable design solutions for engineers, the roles engineers can play, especially as non-traditional actors in NbSs, and the key intervention areas identified by the study group.
